Hinewehi Mohi is a descendant of the Ngati Kahungunu and Ngai Tuhoe tribes and is an accomplished singer/songwriter and television producer. She has been dazzling audiences in New Zealand and abroad with her immense vocal talent since the debut of her first Oceania album in 1999.
This extraordinary work continues to be popular with sales exceeding 70,000 worldwide and achieving double platinum success in her native country.
Oceania II has also proved a popular work being used in stage productions locally and as part of the repertoire for Hinewehi's extensive international performances: these include Valencia, Spain for the 2007 America's Cup; as well as promotion for Tourism New Zealand in Paris, France and Tokyo, Japan.
Fans are also captivated by her dedication to Maori language and culture and to her family, particularly her daughter Hineraukatauri, who was born with cerebral palsy.
